Where have all the utensils gone?

When we last heard from Spork in Dec. 2004, they were bragging about the unstoppable pace of their practices and the inevitable big-time contract signing that was sure to follow.

Now, nearly a year later (trust me, these next three months will fly by), the silence from the boys from Spork has been deafening. But while the pages of this site have been neglected, fan-mail has gone unanswered, and the familiar refrain of "Uh-oh, here we go, up, down, spin me round" has nary been heard, the past year has been an eventful one for America's favorite alt-rock-funk band.

Another Sporker got hitched as bassist Mark Newman and sporkee Renee tied the knot in San Diego this August. Guitarist Nate Smith got a new, old job. Several members of Spork attended the premieres of Fantastic Four and Star Wars, and sampled for the first time the West Coast delicacies from In & Out Burger.

Yes, it was quite a year. But, not a year for music. As the instruments and voices of Spork remained muted.

Now, all are wondering what late 2005 and 2006 might bring? Is Spork finished? Will they be able to rise again from the ashes like the proverbial bird that gets burned and then somehow manges to not die?

One can never know for sure what the future holds. But, lest despair overtake us all, remember this: "A time will come, to satiate." Mmmmm...In & Out Burger...
